OKTOBERFEST ANNUAL CASTLE OF CANS FOOD DRIVE

Hickory, NC is proud to host Oktoberfest each year during the second weekend of October. Having been co-founded by a German, Adolphus “Dolph” Shuford, Hickory has a long, proud German heritage. Home to the United States headquarters for several German companies, and being a sister city with in Altenburg, Germany, our connection to Germany, has never left us.

23RD Annual Oktoberfest Castle of Cans “Virtual” Campaign, October 1-31, 2021

In a perfect world we would be collecting cans again. But just like most in 2020/2021 we must embrace the virtual world, even in our collection to help feed our community. The need to have the campaign is critical as the needs in our community are greater than ever now! We are appreciative that Food Lion Feeds will again contribute 5000 lbs of food to Hickory’s Oktoberfest Castle Of Cans campaign. Hickory Downtown Development Association and St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, campaign coordinator, invite you to join us and help us reach our goal!
